Let's forget about the whole trans thing. What I am concerned about is how a man, any man, can be okay with being estranged with one of your children. Though maybe he isn't. I don't know. I can't read his mind. However, any disconnection with my kids, especially to this extent, would be heartbreaking for me. I doubt I could ever get used to it. 

You don't have to agree with your child's lifestyle or whatever in order to have a strong relationship with them. Hell, even Jeffry Dahmer's dad showed his love for him. He showed up to almost every court date to let him know that he still loves him.
