U.S. military forces conducted a successful counterterrorism raid in northern Syria last week, killing a senior Islamic State (ISIS) leader responsible for financing operations and planning attacks across Syria and Iraq. According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the individual maintained extensive connections throughout ISIS’s regional network and posed a direct threat to U.S. forces, coalition partners, and the newly established Syrian government. "He had relationships throughout the ISIS network in the region, posing a direct threat to the U.S. and coalition forces and the new Syrian government,” said Pentagon Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson during Friday’s Weekly Sitrep video briefing. “We will continue to pursue ISIS terrorists with unwavering determination throughout the region to ensure our lasting defeat of ISIS and the protection of the U.S. homeland.”
CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper reaffirmed the U.S. military’s ongoing commitment to the mission of eradicating ISIS and stabilizing the region. The operation reflects Washington’s sustained focus on counterterrorism even as broader strategic priorities shift toward great power competition.

ISIS/ISIL has no state sponsor. It is a radical islamic group that - unlike Hezbollah - doesn't have the benefit of a state security agency, state funding, a safe place to rotate out for R&R, a safe place for wives and kids, any access to a state's industrial infrastructure, or any access to currency. It has no farms, It has no manufacturing. It doesn't make weapons or vehicles or ammunition. But it is always able to transport its troops, to pay its troops, to re-arm and re-equip it troops. It has an endless supply of ammunition. 

And it accomplishes ALL of this while the entire world - the Russians, the Israelis, the Syrians (until they won), the Turks, the Sauds, the Americans, the Iranians, the Iraqis - EVERYONE is united in trying to kill them. Even the Kurds. Yet they manage to stand against the entire world without any friendly state on their side.

But wait - there's more. Even though they are a radical Islamic army, they have never ONCE attacked Israel. ISIS is violently antisemitic, and its ideology is fundamentally hostile toward Israel. But they only attack other Muslims. Never once Israel. And there's more. Not only did Haaretz and the Jerusalem Times run front page stories about the IDF patching up ISIS fighters on their border with Syria during that kerfuffle, but NOW those papers are reporting that the IDF has given ISIS fighters safe passage to GAZA, where they are killing Palestinians for israel. They were "accidentally" provisioned by Obama THREE TIMES that we actually know about - that the press reported on. Not unlike when the Cartels were in trouble in Mexico, and Obama "accidentally" sent them the latest armaments just in the nick of time to prevent their extermination by the Mexican government, which does not want these terror groups operating on their soil.

ISIS last claimed responsibility for violence in Israel in 2017 when three attackers shot and stabbed police officers.
