In July, President Donald Trump ordered Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) to redistrict his state in the middle of the decade in order to carve out an additional five Republican-leaning congressional districts, which would bolster the party’s odds of keeping control of the U.S. House of Representatives following the 2026 midterm elections. President Trump’s demands for gerrymandering correlate with his record-low approval rating and the rising unpopularity of his signature legislation, the One Big Beautiful Bill. It's the electoral college for states.

Votes should be distrubuted per capita. Determine # Reps and Districts. Geo center the districts equally on the population. Use Math instead of Madness.

It sucks that Vermont and Montana votes count three times as much as Texas and California in a Presidential Election.

Democrats voted to end the current process and mandate use of the above solution.  Not a single Republican signed up for it.

trump pressures everyone in to doing what he wants. passing the bbb took lots of pressure from trump. threats of not supporting in elections is his number one tactic.

he can also freeze funds so to say he has no power is ridiculous.

abbot did not need any pressure but  other govs would.
