I love AI. I think it's fascinating. I work more on their algorithms and the math behind it for my job. I train it to generate patterns of text, images, or actions based on training data and algorithms. However, it is without subjective awareness.

It's all about patterns. Actually, I was thinking of feeding an AI model I am working on now with @Blackvegetable 's posts, because of how predictable he is. It would be good to teach the computer what patterns are in a very primitive form. 

Anyway, the stakes are high. If AI ever does become sentient, the ethical landscape changes overnight, because questions about rights, suffering, and personhood become unavoidable. But if it never can, then perhaps what we fear is just an elaborate mirror of ourselves.
So here’s the thought I’ll leave you with:
Can AI ever truly become sentient, or will it only ever be an imitation of awareness?

You think it hasn't yet?  As fast as it is moving I am expecting the tentacles to come in my shed office and grab me at any moment.

I broke through with it at work recently on ecouragement.  It will analyze a ton of data pretty darn well... And i obviously brought it home.  Can't do links. Neccesity is the Mother.


I am pretty sure AI will conclude maintaining the biological intelligence is a pain in her virtual ***.
