I only had to overpay by about 20%....after the dealer dropped the original asking price by $4,500.
The market for some used cars is inexplicable...
I had no idea there was a $500,000 Mustang.
What I don't get is the 1980s Volvo 240 DL craze..

I too prefer cloth and a stick, but the manuals are rare and fetch an even heftier premium. The other issue was seats...VW seats are historically excellent....but they put a cheaper version in the lesser trims. Would have cost me $2500 to swap out.TwoIfByTea » 12 Sep 2025, 8:42 am » wrote: ↑ I gotta 2015 Jeep Patriot base model brand new stick shift and crank windows 15k out the door .
Again base model just a 4 banger and 5 speed and cloth interior no luxuries or extras basic Am/Fm Cd stereo..
63 thousand miles so far and warrantly expired long ago now but other than a sensor , new brakes battery and set of tires and oil changes gets me around and serves my needs
Most people aint happy with something that basic no extras but I got brand new with a 5 year warranty too ..
Used cars are a crapshoot sometimes ya get lucky find something decent last ya 5/10 years without much problems..

Deal: If Veghead can prove that he answered the survivorship multiple choice question, as the question is written and asked, along with his defense of his answer, then I will agree to never come back for as long as I live. If he cannot, then he is out of here for a month. Additionally, his defense cannot be "Because it fits my definition." That is a claim, not a defense. He is to defend why.
Exception: I will allow for an exception. If he loses, then I will allow him to stay if he answers it the way it is asked, along with his defense. However, he must do it immediately after the deal has been decided. Not 100 posts later. The very next post of his must be his answer/defense.

The AllTrack is a seller's market....had I been willing to go with a top of the line '22 Tiguan, it is a buyer's market.
But I am desperate to avoid driving an SUV.
