I would guess he is probably doing ok, $100-150k. I have no idea if he's married or if she works. Decent money but on the cusp when living in California. The tax rates there are painful. the old man was already gone, my brother was married raising a family and my mother was working at JC Penny crunching numbers...soon to be remarried and moving off to Oklahoma...no one to fall back on...it was do or die at that point...
