No one said the current system is perfect, we play the game just like everyone else and so far have gotten off dirt cheap. The next round will be a challenge, having resources definitely helps. Medicare will cover just about everything after that.
My current condition is quite good, the drug is working and doing it's job of reducing inflammation in the lungs. No need for additional oxygen and I have 100% mobility.
There are other drugs available if this one doesn't continue to work which is a possibility.
Long term care won't happen. It will probably be a morphine drip in my own comfortable bed. Hard discussion to have with the wife but what's the point if you don't have quality of life.
As the wife says, you are ok until you aren't!
