This was in response to this:It seems to me like we are pouring resources into short-term fixes rather than genuinely addressing the root causes behind that level of repeated offending.
Maybe we focus too much on punishment after the fact and not enough on real rehabilitation or long-term support when folks get out.

Imagine how much money we could all lose tomorrow.
Could be 17 trillion in an effort to halve the 34 we already owe..and growing with a govt shutdown and nobody seeing green or red lights
