I have a buddy who's got an 8N because he grew up with one...DeezerShoove » 20 Oct 2025, 1:01 pm » wrote: ↑ Why are you seeking validation? I could not possibly care less about you.
You're a **** full-of-**** troll. You eat **** here every day from what I see.
So you drive a beater. Good for you.
I have a 1948 8N. The upholstery is still as good as new.

Let me guess - you love tickets and backaches?
The sportiest car I ever drove - briefly - was a Ford Maverick.
My goal was always to be the invisible man - the guy the cops didn't even see. My favorite cars back in the day were a 72 Ford Custom with police package that I got second hand in 77 from the Water Department, and a 76 Ford Gran Torino I bought second hand in 1980. It had muscle, but the cops definitely looked past it as a family car. I drove that thing all over the country - loved the ride.

I never **** with sports cars because they stand out. My rides were as invisible as I could manage them to be - no bumper stickers, nothing to stand out and catch attention from poh leece.
It didn't START that way. But I learnt quick.

I had to laugh, cuz my roommate had a '70 maverick, "heavy on the ick" which I bought from her...to this day I think she ripped me off...(which I'll have to bring up, again!)![]()
It ran like a clock, but the front doors were rusted through, so I stuff old long underwear, etc, to stop the drafts...
the most memorable drive was the 70 miles from her mom's to our place...late evening, -20F, she's wrapped in a sleeping bag while I froze my *** off...**** that was a long way home...

Thanks to these tariffs, I had to endure:
A complimentary espresso at the dealership loungeA sales rep who called me “boss” 14 times
A 0.9% APR that felt like a slap in the face of fiscal responsibilityAnd worst of all… she picked the premium color. The one that costs $595 extra. I begged her to choose “dealer white.” She chose “Midnight Sapphire.”
I’m not saying tariffs are ruining marriages, but I am saying I now have to park next to her car and feel inadequate.
Anyway, just wanted to warn the rest of you. If you’re thinking of buying a car, beware: Tariffs will force you to upgrade to the trim with the massage seats.
Stay strong out there.

It requires a real man to ensure his wife's satisfaction in the bedroom. Acquiring a Hyundai will not resolve your issues in that area.MR-7 » 19 Oct 2025, 12:56 pm » wrote: ↑ Just wanted to share how these brutal tariffs have absolutely wrecked my life. American assembled isn't American transfer of raw material to retail products in the "free market place" of denying how living happens so far.MR-7 » 02 Dec 2025, 11:30 am » wrote: ↑ Made right here in Georgia...Does that not make it American made?
Oh, I love America Phil. I do however hate Pedo's.

Then, there is the sugar sand, boat ramps, and unpaved trails. AWD keeps you from getting stuck like a tourist in flip-flops. AWD Lock mode (like in the Palisade) can force 50/50 torque split for max traction. AWD in Florida isn’t just for snowbirds—it’s for rain warriors, ramp bosses, and beach cruisers. Subaru and Audi have the AWD system in all their cars. I know Subaru does.
All-wheel drive (AWD) has no bearing on a vehicle's resistance to the onset of hydroplaning. Hydroplaning is primarily influenced by factors related to the tires and driving conditions, not which wheels are being driven.Huey » 20 Oct 2025, 1:40 pm » wrote: ↑ Don't get too technical and real with him.
