The special counsel's office has appealed this decision to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.- Potential outcome:
If the appeals court upholds the dismissal, the case is over. If the appeals court reverses the dismissal, the case could be sent back to the original judge or a new judge, and a trial could then be scheduled.
HOWEVER HE IS GUILTY and should not ask for 250 million dollars from american tax payers.
The 11th Circuit appeal is about whether a criminal case can proceed — not about money.
The civil fraud fine was overturned, meaning he’s not currently on the hook for that amount, and no public funds are involved.

Based on federal prosecutors and court filings, Donald Trump repeatedly refused to return hundreds of classified documents and took steps to obstruct the government's efforts to retrieve them. In August 2022, after a protracted effort to recover the materials, FBI agents executed a search warrant at his Mar-a-Lago estate and seized over 100 additional classified documents. The criminal case against Trump related to this was dismissed in July 2024, but the former president was accused of significant obstruction.
