The budget deficit began to shrink dramatically beginning in the second quarter of this year when there was no overlap with the Biden administration.

From April to September, the cumulative deficit totaled just $468 billion.

This is the lowest reading since 2019 and is down nearly 40% from the comparable period last year when Biden was spending recklessly. Today, President Trump is putting the U.S. financial system on solid footing. Revenues are soaring and government spending is under control. Democrats think they can undo the important progress the President has made by shutting down the government. But they will not succeed.

This Month our government released a lovely chart based on the Fiscal services monthly updates. Below I attached FY24 and FY25 for comparison.  On the left of each document you can see American citizens paid nearly $50 billion in additional taxes on income tax, while Corporations saw a nearly $50 billion tax reduction.  
Interestingly, nearly $80 billion was added to the "other" category and total "outlay" has actually increased by nearly $100 billion compared to FY24.

I'd also like to point out, that under Trump, the agency changed their reporting for this specific period to subtract the Surplus, from the outlays. Artificially reducing the "outlays" to make it appear we've cut costs, which we've actually increased costs. 

Cumulative outlays for Fiscal year FY24 was $6,752 Billion compared against FY25's $7,010 Billion. Spending has continued to increase.  
What has also increase is individual taxes on income, import duties (Tariffs) which Americans pay, and excise taxes. 
 
What has decreased, is Corporate taxes by nearly $100 billion, while Americans paid nearly $200 billion more.
