If the largest city in the United States begins to thrive, what justification can we provide to account for this?

The purpose of running the same discredited policies that destroyed california is to ruin the city, not make it thrive. Mamdani will bring blight. The city will look like Morocco. Decent people will not be able to walk the street. Public transport will become a rolling prison yard where workaday passengers will be the fresh fish in the yard. 
 
I saw it happen in San Francisco when Giulianni put his homeless and ne'er-do-wells onto busses with tickets to LA ir SF (their choice - or regular ***-whippings by the local constabulary). They gave them fifty bucks for meals en route, and a solemn promise to beat them horribly if they ever returned.

Norway has the largest sovereign wealth fund on the planet. It's Two Trillion dollars. And they only have 5.5 million people. 

THat comes to almost 400,000 for every man, woman, and child in Norway.

Norway is not a socialist nation; it is a social democracy with a mixed-market capitalist economy. It features a robust welfare state and high levels of public ownership in strategic sectors, but the core economy is market-based and largely private. 



AND to add to that, people aren't flocking to Norway and even if they did, their BORDERS ARE SECURED and not letting any and everyone in.

His policies are "feel good" policies. They are not functional policies.

President Reagan did not bail out Chrysler; the bailout occurred under President Jimmy Carter, who approved the loan guarantees in early 1980 just before Reagan took office.
