Why don't Blue States have their own health care....Mrkelly » 07 Nov 2025, 4:02 pm » wrote: ↑ Why not go with this and open the government back up ?
Does the right really need to cut off medical coverage without warning?
I know that killing obomba care is their wet dream… does it have to be now?
is the only way to get it done is by holding the countrys well being hostage?
are they not capable of killing the program by its lack of merit?
Are they afraid that their own constituents that are on assistance would put pressure on them to keep it after a year?
Not good optics

Of course, because otherwise it would never have happened.
So **** with a political football is quite appropriate. That's how it was created after all.
Your recently retiring Old Crow didn't even wait to "see what's in it".

The offer from Schumer was immediately rejected and rightly so. For once the Republicans are standing firm which is a bit of a surprise.Mrkelly » 07 Nov 2025, 4:02 pm » wrote: ↑ Why not go with this and open the government back up ?

Healthcare is not insurance, Google it if you don't know the difference!

If you didn't know, it was the Biden administration that put the expiration date on the extra subsidies, not Republicans. I would bet the majority of people that went on the ACA exchange over the last several years had no idea they were getting an enhanced subsidy. Waiting until a funding bill to sound the alarm by Democrats is pretty lame. Throw in a 30% increase in healthcare costs since 2020 and apparently the only answer to prop up Obamacare is to throw more money at it. The insurance companies couldn't agree more!
The younger crowd probably doesn't remember the Obamacare Mandate. Wonder how they would feel about that in this environment. Democrats have pushed the envelope twice now with Mandates which make the party dangerous in my opinion. What next?
While Obamacare appears to be falling on its face years later, there was a silver lining for the more affluent crowd. The explosion of HSA's provided a tax haven for households that could squirrel away extra cash. Our HSA balance is over $90k, thanks Obama!
The cost of entitlements go up with inflation, there no way around that math.

It's hilarious you don't know the difference! I recently went for 3 years without "health insurance" and got all the healthcare I needed. It was actually cheaper than paying for insurance in our case. The local community hospital gave a 40% cash discount, let's you know how much you are getting screwed over by insurance companies.
I wouldn't argue over most of those points, does seem ridiculous.Mrkelly » 08 Nov 2025, 10:17 am » wrote: ↑ obomba was a boondoggle for heath insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies
and they are among the biggest donors to both parties
but it keeps premiums low for the millions of needy Americans
we give hundreds of billions to other countries that have universal healthcare
trillions to the military industrial complex
trillions for tax cuts
everyone knows people that depend on those subsidies, and food stamps
this is a hill that republicans will die for to placate the oligarchs ?
good luck with that in 26
the one percent has a majority of the money
but not the votes
