Sen. John Fetterman (D-Penn.) was hospitalized Thursday morning after suffering injuries from a fall, according to his spokesperson.
The incident was confirmed in a statement shared on Fetterman's X account.
“During an early morning walk, Senator Fetterman sustained a fall near his home in Braddock," the statement reads. "Out of an abundance of caution, he was transported to a hospital in Pittsburgh. Upon evaluation, it was established he had a ventricular fibrillation flare-up that led to Senator Fetterman feeling light-headed, falling to the ground and hitting his face with minor injuries."
The spokesperson also shared a personal statement from the senator himself, joking about his appearance after the early morning fall."Senator Fetterman had this to say: 'If you thought my face looked bad before, wait until you see it now!'"
The statement said the Pennsylvania Democrat is doing well and continues to be observed by medical staff. Fetterman has chosen to stay at the hospital "so doctors can fine-tune his medication regimen," the spokesperson said, adding that he's grateful to the EMTs, doctors, and nurses looking over him.
