It's not a scandal, as you have implied. It's something that will be worked out.
Trump cancelled his December 15th press conference where he was going to tell us how he would separate himself from his business, and no date has been set for a new press conference.
He has already said that there is no law that would prevent him from both running his businesses and being POTUS.

It will be on January 20th since as soon as he takes the oath he will be both the landlord and the tenant of the old Post Office hotel in DC and he will be in violation of the GSA lease for that hotel.
