Why did Retired Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn, Trump’s choice for national security adviser, phone Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak several times on Dec. 29, the day the Obama administration announced the expulsion of 35 Russian officials as well as other measures in retaliation for the hacking?
Flynn is very cozy with Russia and apparently Putin.
He has appeared on the Kremlin’s principal international propaganda outlet, Russia Today, and received a speaking fee from the cable network.
Last year, Flynn gave a paid speech in Moscow at the anniversary gala of Russia’s English-language state propaganda network, RT.
After his speech, Flynn ate dinner seated at Putin’s table.
What was Flynn talking to the Russian Ambassador about?
Curiously, Putin, who had said that he would retaliate if any new sanctions were put into place, suddenly decided to delay any action, for which Trump praised him on Twitter.
So did Flynn make any promises to Russia/Putin in those phone calls?
Did he tell them that Trump would lift the sanctions put in place by Obama?
Because if he did, he could very likely have violated the Logan Act.
Until January 20th both Trump and Flynn are still private citizens and as such are not authorized to meddle in foreign policy.
I guess nobody told Trump that, because he's been doing it since Election Day.
More and more Trump reminds me of Nixon.
Documents were just uncovered that proved that Nixon interfered in the 1968 Paris Peace Talks in order to undercut Hubert Humphrey's chances at winning the presidential election.
We've already heard Trump say that 'when the president does it, it is not illegal.'
How long before we hear him say, 'I am not a crook.'
