And the record of both, to include Clapper, does not lead one to believe one is a better source than another.
If in fact FISA warrants were executed, or at least requested, Obama himself probably did not utter the words "I order this to be done". But considering the AG has to sign off on these warrants, and the sensitive nature of listening in to either a leading candidate or his staff in the middle of a contentious election, makes it hard to believe that Obama was not in the loop. Apparently his NSC head knows, his AG knows, and others in the white house know. So it is a question of what did he know and when did he know it.
Only if the all of the news on CNN, the NYT's, MSNBC, the Guardian, Heatstreet, FOX, etc is all fake.
So who is lying?
First of all which media outlets have reported that there was a FISA warrant issued that allowed surveillance of Trump's phones?
And secondly which media outlet has reported that Obama 'ORDERED' any such surveillance?
You do remember that that is what Trump accused him of right?
He did not accuse Obama of being 'INFORMED' about any possible surveillance.
He accused him of ORDERING it.
And he didn't say that MAYBE his phones were tapped.
He said that they WERE tapped by Obama.
It seems like a lot of people are ignoring what Trump actually accused Obama of in his Tweet and have shifted the argument to something that has nothing to do with his Tweet.
A POTUS can not order the phone of an American citizen to be tapped.
And if he did it would take the complicity of the FBI and a whole host of DOJ lawyers who would have to apply for a FISA warrant.
So he is accusing not only Obama, but many others of a committing a crime.
