The entire senior level management team at the State Department was let go.
They were career employees who have served under both Republican and Democratic administrations.

Those four people had a combined 150 years of institutional experience.
Tillerson has no diplomatic experience at all.
One would think that he would want to keep those people around, at least for a while.

The State Dep't is in chaos.
They haven't been holding any press briefings until today when they held a telephone briefing.

And when a reporter asked a question about whether Tillerson was scheduled to meet with his Mexican counterpart the Foreign Minister of Mexico, who was in town, they said that they didn't even know that he was in town.

Apparently he met with Trump's son-in-law, who seems to be running a shadow State Dep't, and no one bothered to tell Tillerson that the guy was in DC.

But you just keep pretending that all of this is normal.

It isn't normal. Most Repubs would never take this kind of political risk.

But Trump won't tolerate people who will sabotage his agenda or who are incompetent.

The State Dept. has been an incompetent mess for decades that has obstructed conservative policy while undermining Republican presidents.

this is long over due.

And so what it will be a few weeks before they can call a press conference? They aren't doing anything pressing on a day to day basis.
