Answer.....you don't, because you have no way of knowing what they did or did not know.

I knew that he had gotten paid by RT (Russia).
A quick Google search would show that.

And secondly if they really didn't know, that just means that they did a totally incompetent job of vetting him.

I guess they didn't even bother to Google him.
