Like what he was up to in the three years since he left government, and who he might have taken money from during that time.

So they either didn't bother to vet him, or they did vet him and decided to overlook the fact that he got money from two foreign governments and make him the National Security Adviser anyway.

Which of those two scenarios do you think is worse?
