Huh--I was willing to just give them this scandal out of the goodness of my heart (and because I hate the IRS). But you're saying this whole IRS thing is just lies and propaganda as usual?Well, so far Issa has been unable to tie it to the White House, but he's still trying.Apparently a U.S. Internal Revenue Service manager, who described himself as a conservative Republican, told congressional investigators that he and a local colleague decided to give conservative groups the extra scrutiny that has prompted weeks of political controversy. He said that he and an underling set aside 'Tea Party' and 'patriot' groups that had applied for tax-exempt status because the organizations appeared to pose a new precedent that could affect future IRS filings. But that is not my beef with Clem.He claims that these right wing groups were singled out for 'audits' by the IRS, which is a complete lie. There is a big difference between giving extra scrutiny to an application for tax exempt status and the audit of a tax return.
