I believe that Sally Yates said that she took 45's own words into account, much like the judges who have blocked the order.
45 talked about a 'total and complete shutdown of MUSLIMS entering the U.S.'
The ruling by the federal judge in Hawaii cited several comments made by Trump himself, as well as senior advisers Stephen Miller and Rudy Giuliani, indicating that the motivation for the executive order was to ban Muslims.
Their own words came back to bite them in the ***.
That's the problem. Taking a candidates words into account as opposed to the actual writing of the EO is unprecedented. Legal Scholars from both sides agree on that. Plus, the words they are using were walked back prior to the election.
This will be overturned once it goes they the legal system.
And keeping in mind that there are I've 50 majority Muslim countries in the world the ordinal order only referenced the 7 Obama listed countries. Additionally. Only ONE of those 7 countries is in the top ten of the most Muslim populated countries.
This was not even close to being a Muslim ban. How can it be s Muslim ban when the overwhelming majority of muslims were not affected?
