When you fail to make a full-throated denouncement of these creatures, and you bend over backwards to draw a moral equivalence between them and the people fighting their ideology, then people might tend to believe that you support them.
And FYI, calling them 'racist wackjobs' is NOT a full-throated denouncement.
These are not your run of the mill racists.
