Utterly pathetic that you still can't get it through your thick skull that our deficit is caused by the government spending without restraint. Not only spending wastefully, but as if its funding is in an abundance. All of which is fueled by taxpayer money. Yet despite this, you want the taxpayer to pay even MORE into their foolish ways? Yes, this makes absolute sense!Your wife always charges up your credit card. You're constantly being left with more and more debt via these credit cards. Rather than her coming to the realization she is spending far too much on ridiculous things, she demands that you get a better paying position and continue to bleed out for her spending needs as you near your debt ceiling.Use your brain for once. It IS quite useful and it DOES serve a purpose besides spouting the same crap over, and over, and over, and over, and over - Mr. bad wordBROKENRECORD.Use your brain............OBVIOUSLY and beyond denial, one can address a deficit as much by MORE REVENUE as by MORE CUTS...or some mix of both. The CLASS WARFARE agenda of the Kochs and their billionaire pals has already done PERMANENT DAMAGE to America.The TRADE DEFICIT....a scam the RICH loved....has done damage beyond what can EVER get fixwed even when...at long last,we MUST take steps. Corporations being MULTI National non-persons...owe no loyalty to anyone but their own bottom line. The Corporate aristocrats...a tiny fraction of us GOT FREAKING RICH...but America....slipped and many Americans got tossed on the scrap pile.SPENDING.....by the Govt...is what? PAYCHECKS. Ultimately...if Uncle Sam builds a Highway or a Jet Bomber or a Dam...much of that is PAYCHECKS and some is PROFITS. A better deal for Nike? Nike's payroll now is 90% OVERSEAS.If....and I'm not sure why we have to debate this...IF America is to remain what WAS, to be top dog, we can NOT regress to a semi corrupt-semi feudalism where a few multinational corporate entities MILK us for our wealth...extract wealth and leave us STRIPPED and weaker. America was not about ARISTOCRACY where a small ELITE grabbed everything, where the serfs were expendable where there was NO agenda to make it RIGHT across the board.We need NOT punish the "stars" of the system, but.............dude.........a millionaire or a billionaire...is no orphan child,no stray dog. Oh...sob sob....some poor little billionaire tycoon's tax bill might go up a whole $5000....THE HORROR.....the horror.If the USA's middle class fails and falls and the Wealthy few float about multi-nationally, doing predatory monopolies, conglomerates, dodging all responsibilities......we are DONE. Kaput.What a lot of weak little herd animals Americans have become. Easy marks...Brainwash us ! Spank us! Throw us under the bus! Pathetic.The con artists have so OUTSMARTED millions of Americans that they have their own VICTIMS volunteering to be the human shields. It's a triumph for mass hypnosis and otherwise...tragic.Going back to the analogy the OP used...the simplistic family credit card......Duh...If the wife is spending and you HAVE wealth but are NOT paying the credit card bills....then you do have a good analogy. Tell the wife..."Honey...spend NOTHING because I wanna put all the money in a jar on the shelf for a few years." Well.....you may need to say WHY. An even CLOSER analogy..." Honey,I'm cutting off YOUR credit cards for 3-4 years and I'm gonna buy me the worlds's most expensive set of golf clubs...oh...and about 3 young hookers". Now...that MIGHT sort of muck up the sense of partnership and common cause you need in a marriage or a NATION.I can't really think of any analogy that dumbs it all down further, and I get that some of the Usual Suspects on the right have issues or one-sentence attention spans. If we, as a nation can no longer SEE reality or adapt and rebound.....the time is coming when we skip this petty BS and start to think about strategy for an empire in decline. How long does misinformed finger pointing work?
