Weaver has worked sometime for Repubs, but also for Democrats, and clearly his party isn't Repubs.

In between, he worked for a time for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. He was also the chief strategist for the presidential campaign of Republican John Kasich.

Is that the Kasich who increasingly sold out conservative philosophy to the point a leftist like you would vote for him?
