Rick Santorum is becoming increasingly unhinged in his public comments. In a speech at the Detroit Economic Club on Thursday, Santorum said, Im not about equality of result when it comes to income inequality. There is income inequality in America. There always has been and, hopefully, and I do say that, there always will be. Last week, he said that the president was arguing that Catholics would have to hire women priests to comply with employment discrimination issues. Also last week, he suggested that liberals and the president were leading religious people into oppression and even beheadings. I kid you not. Santorum said: They are taking faith and crushing it. Why? When you marginalize faith in America, when you remove the pillar of God-given rights, then whats left is the French Revolution. Whats left is a government that gives you rights. Whats left are no unalienable rights. Whats left is a government that will tell you who you are, what youll do and when youll do it. Whats left in France became the guillotine. http://www.nytimes.c...ines&emc=tha212On Saturday Santorum told supporters of the conservative Tea Party movement in Columbus Ohio, "It's not about you. (the president's environmental views) It's not about your quality of life. It's not about your jobs. It's about some phony ideal. Some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible -- a different theology."Many in the media reported that Santorum was somehow suggesting Mr. Obama wasn't a Christian. On "Face the Nation" on CBS on Sunday, Santorum said he wasn't talking about the president's religious faith, but his liberal ideology. "I've repeatedly said I believe the president is a Christian,' Santorum remarked."He's says he's a Christian. But I am talking about his world view and the way he approaches problems in this country, and I think they're different than how most people do in America."http://www.cbsnews.c...logy-draws-ire/Can you hear the dogwhistle? He's different. He's not one of us.On Sunday Santorum challenged the Affordable Care Act policy on pre-natal testing. The government shouldn't make health care providers fully cover prenatal tests like amniocentesis, which can determine the possibility of Down syndrome or other fetal problems, Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum said Sunday.Santorum, an outspoken opponent of abortion rights, told the CBS News program "Face the Nation" on Sunday that amniocentesis "more often than not" results in abortion. He added that the requirement was "another hidden message as to what President Obama thinks of those who are less able."http://articles.cnn....?_s=PM:POLITICSI find it fascinating that all these Republican candidates seem to think that they can read President Obama's mind.Santorum seems to think that he knows what Obama thinks of those who are less able. Before he breaks out singing America The Beautiful, Romney says that Obama does not understand the nature of America, and that he wants it to become like Europe. And Gingrich says that Obama has worked very hard at being a person who is normal, reasonable, moderate, bipartisan, transparent, accommodating -- none of which is true. Gingrich also posed the question, "What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anticolonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]?"
