It shows why women don't report and how the memory works surrounding a traumatic event like that.
When you experience a trauma, it is as Dr. Ford said, 'indelible in the hippocampus' but the surrounding details fade over time.
I have twice now posted about being mugged sometime in the early 80's, and while I can recall the actual mugging in sharp detail, the surrounding events are gone from my memory.
