War over who let a pedophile into the White House 13 times: Steve Bannon's allies say Jared Kushner had 'long association' with convicted child sex pervert - and Secret Service DECLINE to say if they vetted him.
Bitter factions that turned the White House into a battleground during the first year of the Trump presidency are at war over who is responsible for inviting a convicted pedophile into the West Wing, following the leak of visitor logs showing the felon met with Steve Bannon more than a dozen times.
Leaked White House visitor logs reveal that Bannon, then the White House's chief strategist, invited George Nader to the White House at least 13 times in 2017 to engage in 'private meetings.'
Nader, who has been convicted of sexually abusing young boys, is now in federal prison awaiting trial on child sex trafficking charges.
Bannon 'had zero knowledge of Nader's criminal record,' a source close to him told DailyMail.com.
Instead, the source directed blame to Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner, claiming he had a longstanding association with Nader.
'Mr. Bannon met George Nader through Jared Kushner at a meeting in Kushner's office; it appeared that Kushner had a long-term association with Nader,' the source said, adding that all of Nader's visits with Bannon were centered around planning Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia in May 2017.
'Kushner was running the planning process for the Riyadh Summit in early 2017, which Nader was a part of as a midlevel functionary from the Middle East,' the source continued. '
All of Nader's visits were associated with activities around the Riyadh Summit, for which there were dozens of planning and follow on meetings.'
A senior administration official said Bannon's allies' statements 'are false' but Kushner's office declined to comment on the record.
Bannon's allies offered no evidence to support their claim of Kushner's 'long association' with a pedophile already convicted on two continents of horrific sex offenses.
The revelation of Nader's visits raises serious questions about how a convicted felon could be allowed entry repeatedly to the White House.
The Secret Service is responsible for carrying out background checks of all visitors.
Secret Service, however, declined to respond to a request for comment on if it had admitted Nader into the White House after administering a background check.
A spokesperson told DailyMail.com it would not provide any specific or general information on its process for visitor admittance 'for operational security reasons.'
The source close with Bannon claimed Secret Service vetted Nader's entry to the White House, 'suggesting they, too, had zero knowledge' that he had been charged and convicted of child sex crimes stemming back to the 1980s.
Bannon's West Wing office was just yards from the Oval Office, but it isn't clear if he entertained Nader in his office or somewhere else in the White House.
A source felt Bannon's meetings with a convicted felon were 'clearly' problematic.
In 1985 Nader was charged with receiving child pornography from the Netherlands, but the charges were dropped due to an invalid search warrant.
He received a six-month sentence in 1991 for transporting pornographic videotapes from Germany of young teenage boys. And in 2003, Nader served one year is prison after he was convicted in Prague, Czech Republic for sexually abusing ten boys.
During Robert Mueller's Russia investigation last year, FBI agents inspecting Nader's three cell phones incidentally found on one images and videos of child pornography and beastiality.
In June 2019 he was arrested for possession of child pornography, images of beastiality and transportation of child pornography.
In July, unsealed court documents revealed Nadler was also facing new federal charges of sex trafficking for allegedly 'engaging in sexual acts' with a 14-year-old boy he transported from Europe.
Nader is being held in jail in Virginia pending trial.
The Lebanese American businessman was featured prominently in former Special Council Mueller's Russia probe in connection to a December 2016 Trump Tower meeting with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed.
He was also present at a January 2017 rendezvous in the Seychelles with Blackwater founder Erik Prince and a Russian banker.
Nader was previously a consultant for Blackwater, a military contractor.
Although the Russia investigation exonerated Trump of conspiring with Russia, it resulted in the new child pornography and abuse allegations for Nader.
The 80-year-old first started visiting Bannon at the White House in February 2017, a month after Trump was inaugurated, and continued through Bannon's tenure, which ended in August 2017.
Bannon was fired from his White House post shortly after the Unite the Rite rally in Charlottesville, Virginia in the summer of 2017 that devolved into violent clashes between those protesting the removal of the Robert E. Lee statue and those claiming it was racist to keep it up.
Trump's chief strategist was decried as a 'symbol of White Nationalism' in the White House and was widely blamed for the president's response to the clashes, which was viewed as inadequate.
Some reports claimed then-White House Chief of Staff John Kelly asked Bannon to submit his immediate resignation in lieu of being fired, but Bannon has disputed this, claiming that he only planned on 'spending one year' with Trump from the time he joined the campaign in August 2016.
'John Kelly and Steve Bannon have mutually agreed today would be Steve's last day. We are grateful for his service and wish him the best,' was the official statement from the White House upon his departure.
Bannon's commentary featured prominently in Michael Wolff's expose, Fire and Fury, also infuriated Trump.
