The 1920's were a time of prosperity, moonbat, until Progressive Herbert Hoover was elected and followed destructive leftist policies. The 1980's were when Ronald Reagan was in office, greatest president of the 20th Century. Gosh, who'd want to emulate him.And heck, who'd want to go back to low illegitimacy rates, low crime rates, little drug use and social peace? Not moonbats. The 1920s represented unhindered capitalism, the glorification of wealth, the development of a privileged financial aristocracy, and the greatest crash of the capitalist system. Not exactly sure you would want to portray your own system in such light. Not that I think you'll surrender your stupidity regarding Greece and Spain as "left wing," but I do find it quite ironic. The "progressive" Herbert Hoover used the military's cavalry to destroy the Bonus March by World War I veterans who demanded their benefits. Additionally, when Hoover began office, the poverty rate was more than 40%, and he did not pass any legislation to address that. The 1950s represented an era of social repression, a higher rate of birth out of wedlock (not that I care about the moral implications, only the economic ones, since I'm not using 13th century morality as a construct unlike you far-right fascists), and domestic abuse than the 1960s.The 1980s were obviously horrid - the working class made almost no gains in income or wealth.
