In fairness, I'm not looking for it, either. But I can promise you that if I were DEFENDING AA, I WOULD be looking for evidence in its favor. Being against it, my work is much easier: all I have to do is point out that it is sexist and racist. The moral duty to defend institutionalized sexism and racism falls to the person advocating it.
By the way - I was FOR affirmative action before I was against it - and I am perfectly willing to weigh any salutary results against the manifest evils of a government picking winners and losers based on genitals and skin color. But we've been playing this game for three generations, and I just think it's time for a progress report.
