He limited it to rifles, because mommy recently let him buy a gun, and he likes to pretend in cyberspace that his copy-and-pasting of pro-gun crap makes him a firearms expert.  No "liberal" I know says that restricting rifles only will fix things, so you and Hooey are trying to build a straw man tiny enough that even weenies like you can beat it up.  And, you are still left dodging the point that even if it were only rifles, you are still left with the false syllogism of comparing knives, tools with many uses and ubiquitous existence, to rifles owned by a smaller percentage of people for limited use.  The apt comparison would be one which examined how many times knives were used for deadly purpose vs. how many times guns were.  In the end the problem you fetishists have is that there is no gun that will turn four inches into six.
