The original AR 15 was designed for civilian use specifically as a semiautomatic.  You are confused with the M16 that was designed for the military.  Read my sig.  Are you going to start that thread considering you have hijacked this one?

Not false at all.  The Armallite 10/15 was designed for the battlefield.  Colt bought it and designated it the M16, still designed for the battlefield.  Those weapons are effectively for civilian use.

The Original AR 15 Sporter, a semiautomatic, was designed for civilian use.  It has no functional relationship to either the M15 or the Armalite version of the M16.  It is the ORIGINAL Semi automatic sports rifle designed for civilian use.  

Now that you understand you may continue your argument.
