Not false at all. The Armallite 10/15 was designed for the battlefield. Colt bought it and designated it the M16, still designed for the battlefield. Those weapons are effectively for civilian use.
The Original AR 15 Sporter, a semiautomatic, was designed for civilian use. It has no functional relationship to either the M15 or the Armalite version of the M16. It is the ORIGINAL Semi automatic sports rifle designed for civilian use.

when I make reference to AR15 sporting thing I am mocking the **** idiotic idea behind "sporting rifle" - the marketing rationalization for allowing the sale of these **** things to losers.
