a fun little anecdote from my travels yesterday.  I was at the Hannaford Supermarket picking up a few items needed for our dinner last night.  As I walked down one of the aisles, I saw an elderly man...maybe early 80's or late 70's wearing a red Marine Corp Veteran's hat... and he seemed befuddled.  I asked him what he was looking for, and he said, "Honey roasted peanuts, but I can't seem to find them."  He was in the right aisle and in the right area, but, as we both scanned the shelves, neither of us could find them.  Then I finally did.  They were on the very bottom shelf and there weren't very many jars of them.  I bent down, grabbed one, stood up, and gave it to him.  He beamed and thanked me profusely.  I then said, "Thanks for your service, Marine.  Semper Fi".  He smiled and said, "Thank you for yours, sir".  I gave him a quizzical look and he quickly answered, "I may not be able to find the peanuts, but I can recognize a service academy ring when I see it".  He saluted, I returned the salute and then we shook hands and parted ways.  Now that's a good day!
