The system doesn't care how much you have, it will just take everything away regardless. My sibling has personal experience with it. Wasn't about guns either.

So has my Brother in Law.  Hit by a drunk 30 years ago.  He became disabled, in a wheelchair and unable to work.  He won millions.  Problem is the drunk driver did not have insurance.
