Hmm…you mean the same conservatives who hate welfare and scream about taxpayer money but happily open their wallets for Israel so Jews get free healthcare and state funded university? Sign me up!

Israel income tax rate on $52k. 31%
Israel income tax rate on $72k. 35%
17% VAT on top of that.
25% tax on interest income.
There are plenty of other taxes also added on.

Israel’s taxes as a % of GDP (the real metric of interest) is comparable to the USA’s (federal + state + local).

If anything I believe the USA’s is slightly higher by 3-4 points.

Last figures I saw was: Israel has about $125B in total tax revenue per year. The US gifts between 3-4B (of the recorded transactions, who knows how many “off the book” gifts are made to Israel) per year ostensibly for military purposes.

While that’s not Earth shattering in terms of money gifted, it IS a transfer payment. So even if you disagree with his sentiments, his facts do pass the test.
