Because overseas, doctoring and dentisting is just a perfectly respectable profession that offers an upper-middle class lifestyle - like that of a professor or an attorney or a judge. But stateside, if you're a doctor, you have to drive a sports car and ditch the gal that saw you through med school and get a younger version of her and pay enormous child support while supporting your new family in the manner to which your trophy wife demands they become accustomed.

The illness is systemic, because you leave med school owing a fortune, so you have to earn like a mother **** to pay it off. And then, by the time you have paid it off, you've become covetous of all those big numbers you've been pulling in and barely getting to touch. You've started measuring success not by lives touched but by checks cashed. Same thing happens to dentists.

In just about every other country, students receive a stipend while attending school. They leave school with no debts. The mill of covetousness is a course they never run.

I must be lucky then. The doctors I had (GP) were old farts in Buicks. Married with children that have children.
Because the last old fart retired I now have a woman who had her third kid a few years ago.
Grandpas and moms don't fit your scenario.

But like I said, I don't have the inclination to test fit doctors until I find a match that I like.
Especially if I need a passport to go see him.
I do appreciate the sentiment about treating health versus sickness.

You posted something about a Dr Cabral. I looked up reviews on him.
Besides the usual "He's a quack" **** that I fully ignore there were comments about how expensive his stuff is.
That part is not easy to dismiss.
