If they can do their own thing, then no. They should tell corporate bosses to go pound sand.

Well, sure, everyone who are truly capable and motivated to "do their own thing", i.e. be entrepreneur, they should take a chance and go for it.  But, you have to understand that a lot of people are not inclined to be an entrepreneur. For instance:

• Many people actually prefer working for a large company where they feel like they are part of a team.
• Others have family obligations where the benefits of working for a company outweigh the risks of doing it on your own, paying your own medical insurance for your you and your family and making sure you have a steady paycheck as the family provider.
• Still, others lack the experience, personality, or discipline to do their own thing.
• And, many others lack the financial resources to break away from a stable company job to go and do their own thing.
