Agreed!
And in over 50 years as a business owner, I can attest to the fact that those who DO exert more than the minimum effort at their job are always the first to get promoted and earn higher pay and benefits.  I ALWAYS promoted from within, regardless of which employees may have had longer tenure.  Many workers ARE content to do the minimum work they were hired to do, and that was fine with me but others who cared far more about the success of the business were promoted. And that's the primary reason I would never let a union get a foothold in any of my businesses.

Unions create the antithesis of a good work ethic.
