Looks like there's a lot of competition already.
There looks to be performance standards in place complete with a tiered rating system.
I don't know if there is a certification process [that would mean destructive testing ]...otherwise it would be anything goes as far as the manufacturer's safety claims are concerned.
Here's a sample of what's out there.

There is a lot of opportunity to build motor control panels where I am at. The existing sources are overloaded and have trouble with delivery. I do think about the possibility that I could start an enterprise to compete in the market. Or at least have success in the local electrical contractors Electrical Program Management position, All I need is a small bay with chain hoist and a good cabinet manufacturer. That and competitive creative import of electrical components. Benshaw has an edge, they did not farm out there electrical component manufacturing... I think they have made in USA stuff already.
There is a great deal of machinery in the poultry industry. So beyond my inside scoop on the frigeration I thought there would be a market there too. It was sad to meet a Gentlemen taking his 90 year old mother out for Birthday Dinner and he shared the news after 40 years in the poultry machinery business he was just let go. So i have to keep my perception clear and informed if I am going to take any risks. Mrs had bought his Mom dessert on our tab before he told us. He is a victim of H1N1.
