They still get held back, but you can only hold them back so many times. Otherwise, they would be graduating 25 yr olds. They have to push them through.
Good point, but what's the purpose of holding a kid back if the school doesn't have the resources (or parents involved) to work out the problem?
One thing is for sure, it was well past time to put the DOE into the grave. The states will do better I hope.
The Wife's caseload is mainly K-3, there are some messed up kids out there.
