• Avoidance of Accountability:
  Quoting others lets them hide behind someone else's words, so if they're challenged, they can say "Hey, I didn’t say it."
• Lack of Substance:
  Narcissists often lack real expertise or depth of knowledge—so they borrow smarter people’s words to fake intellectual authority.
• Weaponization of Your Words:
  They obsessively repost your quotes out of context in hopes of “owning” you with your own words—because it’s easier than forming a real argument.
• Projection Disguised as Proof:
  They quote you to try and “prove” what they’ve already decided about you, regardless of what your quote actually means. It’s not evidence—it’s a prop.
• Fear of Being Exposed:
  Creating original thoughts invites scrutiny, which narcissists fear. Copying avoids vulnerability by keeping everything deflectable.
• Ego Validation:
  They believe simply finding a quote or catching a contradiction gives them a “win.” In their mind, it makes them clever—when it actually shows insecurity.
• Control and Manipulation:
  Repeating your words on their terms is a way to dominate the narrative, even when they’ve contributed absolutely nothing new.
