What about juicing carrots...?
With juicing you are tossing out lots of fiber and zero calorie bulk to help you feel full...but on the other hand you are encouraging the intake of the nutrients in their most bio-available form.
[A good tasting tonic I haven't taken the time to make in years is carrot, garlic and a wee bit of apple. If you have a good attitude about drinking freshly macerated garlic...thrown in as much as you like]
I believe if you put a bit of lemon and ginger in the carrot juice, it might help take the edge off the resulting insulin resistance - but I'm not sure about that. What I can say is that carrot juice is some good ****. But it should be consumed over a period of time - perhaps 20 to 30 minutes per cup. It should be sipped, not gulped. Easier said than done, of course. That **** is delicious.
