**** people... Part of it was the acronym: it is actually 50 Browning Machine Gun... Gosh, not a military round!
That's too scary.
Then they reminded the club at large what other rounds are acceptable and have been forever. Lots of military.
So, the whiners lost that stupid battle.  Image
I rarely see anyone shooting 50BMG.  Occasionally a bench-rest shooter. These rounds are so expensive to shoot, even reloaded rounds, that I can't see them really impacting other shooters all that much.  And, ****, its a gun range.  Everyone should be supporting everyone else's right to shoot whatever they want (unless a group of hood-rats shows up). I used to belong to a gun club/range. Machine guns were permitted, so no one bitched about "loudness". We were just glad to have a place where we could shoot rapid fire and full-auto.
