The only thing I found disagreeble was his tony in-lumping of national socialism in the cadre of ideologies that were decidedly anti-meritocratic. That nazi germny was on balance a meritocracy is established by its unthinkably, inexplicably powerful results. It was a state the size of Oregon with scant resources and a population simliar to that of England or France, and it rose as a phoenix under national socialism from abject, externally-imposed povery to hold the world at bay for six years. Based on empirical evidence, if anything was anti-meritocraatic, it was the Weimar government which the Nazis supplanted.
