"Ibid." is an abbreviation of the Latin ibidem ("in the same place"), used in footnotes, endnotes, or bibliographies to cite the same source as the immediately preceding note. It streamlines citations, indicating the same author and work, sometimes with a different page number (e.g., "Ibid., 36")
