I feel more like Harald the Missionary (from the movie Erik the Viking) every time I see this stuff.

In the movie, Erik and Co. seek to enter Asgard but are terrified of the obstacles and the dead.
Harald does not believe in the viking superstitions and wanders about completely unaware of anything menacing.

I don't believe in this stuff except perhaps self-fulfilling prophesies of "religious people".
