More and more Americans are leaving the Democratic Party and joining the Republican Party or registering as independents since President Donald Trump took office in 2025. The New York Post reported in August 2025 that over 4.5 million Democrats left their party since 2020. Conversely, the Republican Party has gained over 2.5 million registered voters. The Post further stated that, “Democrats are facing a crisis.” What is causing this serious exodus from the Democratic Party?
