Good character? I really don't know one way or the other.
Elite? Aren't you the son of some highfalutin liberal lawyer and related to a former Governor of GA? And, you don't really care about the right of all law abiding citizens of the US to bear arms; just so long as the people YOU want to have 'em has access to them. That is elitism and a sure-fire plan to make sure no non-elites ever have access to guns.
I'd rather live in a nation where individuals occasionally skirmish with each other than be oppressed by an elitist over-lord bureaucratic dictatorship.
