Two laws would have prevented this.
1. Reinstatement of the assault weapons ban that was allowed to expire in 2004.
2. A change in the Florida law that says that you need to be 21 to buy a handgun, but only 18 to buy rifles like the AR15 used in this shooting.
If the age limit to buy a rifle was also 21, he would not have been able to buy an AR15.
